Baptism Class -- Sunday, March 18

Pastor Richard will be teaching a class on water baptism on Sunday, March 18 at 9 AM at the building where we worship (GACAR). This class is for those who would like to know our understanding of the Bible’s teaching on water baptism as well as a class to prepare any who would like to be baptized on March 25 or May 27.

Please let Pastor Richard know if you would like to attend the class and if you are interested in being baptized on either of the two dates mentioned above. Thanks!

Welcome to The Chapel

We are a newly-planted church in Gainesville, Florida.

 

At first glance, The Chapel sounds like the name of a building, but is not a physical building at all.  As a local church, we are not a building but a group of people who follow Jesus Christ and who meet together for prayer, worship, Bible study, and to encourage one another as we are enabled by God to live out our faith in our daily lives.

 

Just like the name of our church, The Chapel, Paul uses the metaphor of a building to refer to the world-wide church, in his letter to the church at Ephesus:

 

So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God's household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit. (Ephesians 2:19-22)

Directions: Go west on Newberry Road to Ft. Clarke Blvd and turn right. Take Ft. Clarke Blvd (0.5 miles) to NW 15th Place and turn right going east (also the main road for Legacy Apartments). As you go east on NW 15th Place, it curves to the left and becomes NW 80th Blvd. The GACAR Conference Center will be on the left.
